Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated that voluntary returns have accelerated following the developments in Syria after 8 December 2024. Yerlikaya stated, "Türkiye stands with our Syrian brothers and sisters in the voluntary return process today, just as it did yesterday. After Syria's liberation, 509,387 of our Syrian brothers and sisters have returned to their country."

1,249,000 People have returned to their homeland.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 509,387 Syrians have returned to their country since 8 December 2024, and the total number of those who have returned voluntarily since 2016 has reached 1,249,390.

Centre for Voluntary Returns: Adana Sarıçam

Minister Yerlikaya stated that the Adana Sarıçam Voluntary Return Coordination Centre is one of the most important points where voluntary, safe, dignified and orderly return transactions are carried out, and that the work conducted here is being carried out with great sensitivity.
 

Sadness and Joy Together

Syrians returning to their country are experiencing the joy of being reunited with their homeland after many years, while also sharing the sadness of leaving Türkiye. Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated, “We will continue to carry out the voluntary return transactions of our Syrian brothers and sisters with sensitivity.”
